As one of the most trusted dentists in Berwick, Pennsylvania since 1989, Dr. Mark Rongone focuses on restorative, cosmetic, and implant dentistry. He combines his years of clinical excellence with an approachable, patient-centered practice environment.
Known to most patients as “Dr. Mark,” he creates a welcoming atmosphere that reduces anxiety through honesty, warmth, and a personable chairside manner. His natural ability to put people at ease with his honesty, sense of humor, and approachability keeps long-time patients coming back and continually referring their friends and family.
Education and Experience
Dr. Rongone received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the Creighton University School of Dentistry in 1985. He subsequently joined the U.S. Navy, completing four years of active duty with advanced training in multiple dental specialties before establishing his private practice in Berwick.
Before retiring from the Reserves after 30 years of distinguished service, Dr. Rongone dedicated time as a dentist on the US Aircraft Carriers John F. Kennedy CV-67 and the Harry S. Truman CVN75 and served as the Dental Department Head for multiple humanitarian assistance missions to western Africa and Alaska.
Dr. Rongone stays current with the latest advancements to deliver highly modern, technologically advanced care. He has continued to expand his base of dental knowledge and skill by completing hundreds of hours of continuing education in the art of dentistry at institutions across the United States through his memberships with the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, and the Pennsylvania Academy of General Dentistry.
Recognition of Excellence
Dr. Rongone received the Academy of General Dentistry Fellowship Award (FAGD) during the AGD 2014 Annual Meeting. The AGD Fellowship Award is presented to dentists who seek to provide the highest quality dental care by remaining current in their profession. To earn this prestigious honor, Dr. Rongone completed 500 hours of continuing dental education and passed a comprehensive written exam.
Most recently, Dr. Rongone earned the Academy of General Dentistry Mastership Award (MAGD), one of the profession’s most rigorous continuing-education distinctions, as well as the Lifelong Service Award (LLSR) for more than 1,600 hours of continuing education and 100 hours of dental community service. Only a small number of Pennsylvania dentists have achieved this recognition.
Outside the Office
Dr. Rongone and his wife, Jamie, raised four children and now revel in their role as grandparents. Keeping them company at home are two black toy poodles, without whom life would be much less exciting.
